Things That Might've Been is Josh's debut EP,
telling a story of love and loss through haunting melodies and soothing ambience.
Josh is an up and coming artist from Brisbane, Australia opening up to the world for the first time with a huge soundscape full of bold yet graceful honesty. From trumpet, to piano, to guitar -he is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for making moving music to spread a message overflowing with love and hope. "Things That Might've Been" is Josh's first release, produced by Dorny Mayes (Gordi, Troye Sivan, Birds of Tokyo), with album art by @sookboyartist.
"Things That Might've Been" is a 4 track EP written and performed by Josh Maier, and produced by Dorny Mayes (Gordi, The Kite String Tangle, Birds of Tokyo). Centering around anxiety, loss, acceptance, and hope -each of the four tracks adds its own unique sonic atmosphere to the ever-evolving dynamic of the EP, while the haunting vocals sink you into the emotional depths of some dark and personal moments.
The lyricism explores familiar feelings from the transition to adulthood - of wanting to find oneself, and the things lost along the way -and tries to make sense of the pain inflicted by life's twists and turns.
